Brooklyn Invitation 2012, September 22nd.

I'm going this year so if things go as planned, I'll be seeing some of our state-side friends at the Brooklyn Invitational in September. I look forward to saying hello in person.

BEFORE & AFTER - Bobber weekend build, part 2

Here are some pictures of the starting point on friday: Upsweeps, wide handlebars, 3" open belt, shot wiring, stuff mounted with strips, different tank etc. Enough stuff to work on for sure.

More pictures here of the process and everyone helping Nicolas out.
Scrool down for the final result.

- And here's the final result Sunday night after about 200 man-hours spent:

Bobber weekend build, part 1

Nicolas' newly acquired Panhead got all the attention this weekend. Everyone spent time on his bike only, Friday to Sunday - and here are some great shots that Robert took yesterday. The bike is getting a complete overhaul minus engine from Friday to Saturday, paint, mounts, handlebar-cutdown w hollywood, gearbox, kicker-cover, carbToair-mount and tons of other stuff. I'll find a good before and after picture and post later. It's look awesome - congratulation on the new bike, Nicolas!

Peter Ossian: The DL project

Peter the Kid (22 and talented), a friend of mine, did this rigid-frame Ironhead project (see below) last year. For his next trick he's onto a DL project which should be very interesting to follow - so if that has your interest, have a look here once in a while and track the progress. He's a master of detail, so be patient and enjoy.

Getting to the bottom of things

I've taken the Flathead apart down to the bones, so now it's just a matter of putting it back together with the proper nuts and bolts. There was a lot of quick-fixes on it from the previous owner - but no more of that here. The side project with the stroker engine is coming along fine now as I've finally gotten all the parts needed - this thing eats €'s like it was cake with sprinkles. Anyway, I'll be able to drop the new engine in within a month or so - and then I might have the "74 Flathead up for sale, but haven't really decided yet. I can see I'm a keeper more than a seller.... The Torque-monster flywheel in the new engine in combination with the 80" cylinders should make it a 84" engine more or less - so the old '47 Flattie should have bit more bite than last summer. Also got new cams, new valveseats, new valve-stems, NOS oilpump, redid the scavenger pump, aluminum heads and replaced bla bla bla, so it'll be a nice piece of metal to kick and ride.
